31/10/10 - 2010 European Seniors Success

Bristol Evening Post Article
Once again we have to congratulate Val on her success at the recent Seniors European Championships held in Dundalk Ireland with players in age groups from over 35+. Representing England in the ladies 60+ age group with Joanna Elson, also from Avon, they progressed comfortably through the early rounds, beating the Swedish second seeds 21-16, 21-15 on the way. The final was an all English affair, where they lost to the Yorkshire pairing of Sue Ely & Pam Firth 21-16, 21-13, but were nevertheless pleased to come home with Silver Medals. Joanna also won bronze at mixed 65+with Ken Tantum (Notts). Avon were also represented by Penny Shears who took a bronze in Mixed 60+ with Bob Bell (Cornwall), and Dave Gribble playing Mens singles at 50+.

17/12/08 - Christmas Meal

Christmas Meal 2008 Photos
The Club Christmas Meal was held at the The Upton Inn, Upton Cheyney on Wednesday 17th December.  The night was well attended, if only just remembered by a couple of people, you know who you are Rich and James, and proved to be very enjoyable and entertaining.  We managed to find a good use for the "High quality" cracker toys, and, I believe, improved the decor somewhat.

14/04/08 - Bowling Night (BowlPlex Longwell Green)

Once again there was a good turnout for the annual bowling night.  Unfortunately, the only results I can remember from the night is that I didn't win.  Therefore, you will all have to take my word for it that there was a healthy level of competition and a good night was had by all.

16/04/07 - Bowling Night (BowlPlex Longwell Green)

Rogues Gallery, Results
A good night was had by all those who attended the annual bowling night at the BowlPlex at Longwell Green.  Nothing like a bit of friendly competition away from the badminton court.
